“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3 NRSV

Humans are naturally selfish. We are programmed to look after ourselves and our own interests, which can cause us to block out the needs of others around us. We have tunnel vision sometimes.

One of Jesus’ teachings on the commandments taught us to love others as we love ourselves. We need to make an effort to open our minds and hearts and see how we can bless someone else.

You may just find that blessing another may be a blessing for you.

Dear God, thank You for this beautiful day. Please open my eyes and heart so I can see and serve someone in need. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
