“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overtake it.” John 1:5 NRSV

I hate stumbling around in the dark. I have terrible vision in low or no light, and I’m sure to trip over or run into something and usually hurt myself. I’m quick to turn on a light or leave on a night light, so I don’t have this problem.
This is how I feel about my life before heeding God’s call. I was stumbling around, trying to forge my path and getting hurt along the way.
Following Jesus is the light that will never fail. The light that will lead us on our journey to fulfill God’s plan for us and the light that will lead us home to salvation.
Take some time today to think about how your current path is lit or if it still needs to be.

Dear God, thank You for this restful Sunday. Thank You for guiding me to greatness in Your name. Please continue to light my journey forward. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
