“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.” John 14:27 NRSV
In this passage, Jesus is comforting His disciples. He has told them that He will soon be leaving, and they are questioning how they will live in a world without Jesus. Jesus knew that He was only physically leaving them and that He would ascend to heaven and be with them always to comfort them and give them peace, just as He is for us today. Where do you need peace today? Hand Him your concerns.
Dear God, thank You for sending Jesus to be my eternal comfort and salvation. Please be with me today so I may feel Your presence and peace. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
